Sometimes it just feels good to think that at this very moment there are so many diverse things happening simultaneously in different parts of the world. At the very instant when most of us were celebrating Christmas with our family or savoring an extra day at home, there were people who gave up all that for making a difference in the lives of few underprivileged children in a village in Bhopal. They were volunteering for a winter camp organized by Aham Bhumika in Mahabadia village for the underprivileged girl children.
The camp commenced yesterday and will continue till 30th December. During the 6 day long camp the children will be taught basics of English, computers, clay making, art and craft etc.
Jaya Rai, a web designer from Mumbai specially went to Bhopal to teach basics of English and clay making to the girls. Mrs Rama Nayak,Deepa Kondjekar and Rupa Goswami, both from Bhopal, taught embroidery to them .
On the eve of Christmas the children were also taught how to make Christmas bells.
There are volunteers from Indore too, namely Ms. Sonam, an IT professional and Ms Kanika a fresh MBBS graduate, who will be teaching computer basics and hygiene to the children.
There will also be classes on block printing and crafts.
On 31st December they will be taken to an exposure visit to Sanchi.
